On St. Patrick's Day, Irish families would traditionally attend church in the morning and celebrate in the afternoon.
St. Patrick, the Patron Saint of Ireland, died on 17 March 461 AD and the day has been celebrated ever since. St. Patrick spent thirty years building and setting up monasteries and places of worship all around Ireland.
